JJ Barron Growth Coaching

I work with CEOs, executive teams, and boards to sharpen strategy while strengthening how the group works together.

Because the quality of the strategy and the quality of the team making it are rarely separate problems.

Sometimes the challenge is the strategy itself: Where will we play? How will we win? What will we prioritize, and what will we stop doing?

Sometimes the strategy is clear, but the team is getting in its own way. Important issues go unspoken. Decisions blur. Functional interests override enterprise priorities. Accountability weakens.

Often, both are happening at once.

Great individual leaders do not automatically make a great team.

The strongest leadership groups learn how to challenge one another, make real choices, surface difficult issues early, and lead the whole enterprise rather than protect their own functions.

The questions are practical:

01

Do we trust one another enough to say what needs to be said?

02

Can we disagree productively?

03

Are we making real strategic choices or avoiding the hardest trade-offs?

04

Are we leading the enterprise or protecting our own areas?

05

Do we make clear decisions and hold one another accountable?

Build a Stronger Leadership Team

Great individual leaders do not automatically make a great team.

Most executive teams spend far more time working on the business than working on how they lead it together.

Through facilitated sessions and sustained team development, I help leadership groups strengthen the habits and relationships that drive collective performance:

The goal is not simply better relationships. It is a team that surfaces difficult issues sooner, makes stronger decisions, and performs more effectively together.

“As we went through significant organizational change, the work helped us be braver because we understood our colleagues at a deeper level. Building a culture of mutual accountability and trust made all the difference.”

Sharpen Strategy and Build Alignment

A strategy becomes stronger when the leadership team is willing to challenge its choices and assumptions, and confront the trade-offs required to make it real.

I help executive teams, boards, and board-management groups pressure-test their strategy and build genuine alignment around the choices that matter most:

01

What are we trying to achieve?

02

Where will we play, and how will we win?

03

What truly differentiates us and creates advantage?

04

What will we choose not to do?

05

Do we have the capabilities and investment required to deliver it?

06

Are we genuinely committed to these choices, or have we settled for agreement in the room?

My background in strategy consulting and executive leadership allows me to work on both levels at once: the quality of the strategic choices and the dynamics shaping them.

From Strategy to Collective Performance

The strongest leadership groups make better choices, surface difficult issues earlier, and stay effective when pressure rises.

My role is to create the conditions for conversations that rarely happen in the normal course of business, then help the group turn those conversations into sharper choices, stronger working relationships, and clear action.

Engagements range from focused leadership-team or board sessions to sustained work that strengthens how the group makes decisions, works through difficult issues, and performs together. Strategy may be the starting point, but the work is ultimately about improving the quality of collective leadership.
