JJ Barron Growth Coaching

About Jennifer

My experience spans strategy, growth, executive leadership and organizational change – and a lifetime of learning what it means to achieve, lose, rebuild, lead, and become more fully yourself.

Today, I work with highly accomplished, growth-oriented leaders as they make some of the most important decisions of their careers and lives.

I learned early how to strive, perform, and keep moving. Much later, I learned how to slow down, listen inward, and value who I am, not only what I accomplish.

I have built a demanding career, raised two daughters, navigated divorce and remarriage, experienced burnout, and lived closely with addiction, recovery and other difficult family realities.

Business Experience That Lets Us Get to the Real Work

I was a Partner at Monitor Group, Prophet, and Deloitte, as well as SVP of Strategy at Fidelity Investments.

I advised CEOs and senior executives of Fortune 100 companies, built and led consulting practices, managed large teams and businesses, and worked alongside some of the world’s leading thinkers in strategy and brand, including Michael Porter and David Aaker.

My clients do not have to spend our early conversations explaining how business works before we can get to the real issue. I know when to help a client hear their own judgment more clearly and when a direct business perspective may be valuable.

“Jennifer has a rare ability to listen deeply and reflect back what she hears in a way that stops you in your tracks — in the best possible way. Her extensive business experience matters enormously; when she speaks, it is grounded in having truly been there.”

Why I do this work

Helping people see more in themselves.

During my corporate career, the part of my work I loved most was always helping people see more in themselves, and then helping them act on it.

My goal is not simply to help clients become more successful. It is to help them make wiser choices, lead more fully, and create a version of success that does not require them to lose themselves.

Outside my work, I am a wife, mother, grandmother, avid reader, lifelong athlete, and lover of mountains and the outdoors.

My bookshelves have been crowded since the 1980s with books about business, leadership, psychology, spirituality, and what we once unapologetically called self-help. I still find joy and humility in skiing, golf, triathlons, and whatever challenge I take on next.

Education and Training

I have an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Economics from Dartmouth College. I completed my coach training through the Co-Active Training Institute and am a Certified Positive Intelligence Coach.
